Description
What Is Paprika Oleoresin?
Paprika Oleoresin is a natural extract derived from dried red paprika peppers (Capsicum annuum). It contains carotenoid pigments such as capsanthin and capsorubin, which give it its deep red-orange color. This extract is widely used as a natural food colorant and mild flavoring in snacks, sauces, soups, and seasoning blends.
How Paprika Oleoresin Is Made?
The color is obtained through CO₂ extraction of crushed paprika pods. After extraction, the solution is filtered and concentrated to yield a thick, oil-soluble liquid with stable color and flavor properties. The result is a standardized natural colorant with defined ASTA color units.
