What Is Turmeric Oleoresin?
Turmeric Oleoresin is a bright yellow extract derived from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa Linn. It contains curcumin, the principal color compound responsible for its golden tone. This natural pigment is used to color sauces, dairy, snacks, beverages where a warm yellow shade is desired.
How Turmeric Oleoresin Is Made?
The rhizomes are dried, powdered, and extracted through CO₂ extraction process. After filtration and concentration, the oleoresin is standardized to specific curcumin levels (typically 10% – 95%) and can be formulated as oil-soluble or water-dispersible grades.
